If we talking about the benefits of salah let's talk about first what is salah? salah is the second most important pillar of Islam and it is very important to perform salah for every Muslim. on the day of judgement, Allah  will hold us accountable for nothing more than our performance of salah. we should perform salah as soon as we can so develop the habit of doing and make it a regular part of our routine. the salah plays a fundamental role in the Islamic faith. the basic concept of benefits of salah is to ensure Muslim maintain their commitment and faith to Allah (swt).to increase Taqwa(closeness to Allah) and remember the value of faith and devotion  to their creator. Salah is a gift enjoined by Allah (SWT) on his beloved mankind. salah is the key of paradise and there is a countless benefits to perform salah.         While salah is primarily a religious practice, salah has a lot of spiritual benefits, it also has numerous health benefits that have been scientifically proven. in this article, we will explore some of the spiritual and Scientific benefits of salah.

. Spiritual benefits of salah

 1. Salah make our life meaningful.

      Salah is primarily a religious practice, and as such, it has numerous spiritual benefits. the prayer provides an opportunity for Muslims to connect with Allah (SWT) and seek forgiveness for their sins. it can also help Muslims feel a sense of community and belonging, as they come together with other Muslims to pray. The spiritual benefits of salah can also help provide a sense of purpose and meaning in life. 

   2.Taqwa {God consciousness} 

regular pray salah increase the Taqwa When a person prays salah five times a day, he feel that Allah is watching him  at all times. A sense of God consciousness keeps the heart suspended between fear and hope. Fear of Allah keeps a Muslim away from the sins And encourages to do the obligatory and good thing. salah gives us the unmeasurable joy of being in Allah presence and connecting to him on a spiritual level. 

 3. The salah can improve discipline in our live.

The prayer has the ability to  improve  people's life. The fact that we give up whatever we are doing and first we pray salah. Similarly ,the prayer train us to go by using distinctive moves and utter unique phrases at a specific time. All the body parts are under control obeying and worshipping Allah(swt), and if the self -discipline is broken, the prayer may have to be repeated. the discipline we learned in salah we can use it in other aspects in  life.  like we should not look around when praying ,we essentially have to control our eyes outside of the prayer not to fall on forbidden objects. just like we used to our tongue to praise Allah(swt), outside of the salah we need to no longer backbite or lie. simply as our hand and feet perform control motion, outside of the prayer we should not use them to steal, purchase eat what is forbidden. but away from it. 

4.Generates a feeling of Humility

when a Muslim pray Salah five times a day, for a few minutes the they meets their lord (Allah). when we pray salah properly and with concentration on their prescribed time, it awakens and stimulate the soul. a Muslim reminds himself that Allah is in charge of everything. 

       indeed I am Allah (SWT) there is no deity except me, so worship me and establish prayer for my remembrance.                 {Quran 20:14)           

       similarly, remembrance of Allah (SWT) gives way to many different wonderful character qualities that are dear to our lord, including humility ,modesty and piety.

5. Salah has ability to remove sins 

      The prophet Muhammad (SAW) was once asked 

"If there was a river at your door and you took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on you?''  

they said :"not a trace of dirt would be left"

The prophet Muhammad (saw) said: "that is the parable of the the five prayers by which Allah removes sins.[al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The ability to remain calm while prayer is a critical part                       Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

"Successful indeed are the believers, those who humble themselves in their prayers."

The salah is relaxing and will help regain lost focus in life. the salah can heal our soul. for your salah to reach this state of concentration it requires persistence, practice and ask Allah (SWT) for help. By performing the five daily prayers, we maintain a constant awareness of Allah (SWT). This spiritual connection calm our body and mind from life's stresses in the outside world. Salah encourages us to become a better Muslim.

  . Scientific benefits of Salah (namaz) 

Salah is used as a means of seeking solace, using Allah's (SWT) guidance to achieve forgiveness and peace. However the benefits of salah do not end with the spiritual benefits of salah but in fact, including the scientific benefits of salah as well. There are two types of scientific benefits of salah-The first is physical benefits of salah and the second is psychological benefits of salah.

a. Physical benefits of salah

1.physical exercise 

 salah involves a series of physical movements that can be considered a form of exercise. The prayer involves standing, bowing, and prostrating which can help improve flexibility, balance, and strength. Regular practice of salah can also lead to weight lose and reduced risk of obesity. The physical exertion involved in performing Salah can also help reduce stress and promote relaxation.

2.Salah protect us from skin diseases                                                       Salah involves washing the hands, face, and feet before performing the prayer. this can help reduce the risk of infection and illness by removing bacteria and viruses from the body. 

3.Boost immune system

  The salah involves a series of movement that stimulate the lymphatic system, which is responsible for fighting infections and diseases. the movement also increase blood flow, which helps to deliver nutrients and oxygen to the cells and tissues, thus boosting the immune system. 

4.Better posture                                                                                          Salah involves assuming different positions, including standing, bowing and prostrating. these position can help improve posture and reduce the risk of back pain. these act of standing upright during salah can also help strengthen the core muscles, which can help overall stability and balance.

5.Improve Blood circulation                                                       Salah involves a lot of movement that require the use of various muscles, including those in legs, arms, and back. these movements can help improve blood circulation, particularly to the legs and feet, which can reduce the risk of blood clots and varicose veins. The different position during the salah help in improving the overall blood flow in the body. 1.mental health benefits                                                                           In addition to the physical benefits of salah, there are also numerous mental health benefits. Salah is a form of meditation that requires concentration and focus. this can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and promote feelings of relaxation and calm. The regular practice of salah can also help improve sleep quality and reduce the risk of depression.

 some medical professional believe that prayer can be useful practice during psychotherapy (psychological treatment of mental disorders without medication) due to its use of providing intimacy with a higher power, inspiration, increased faith, problem-solving, humility, salvation decrease in stress, etc.              according a health research _                                                                          To compare the outcomes among war veterans who pray/do not pray and who were not suffering mental disorders after the Bosnia-Herzegovina war (1992-95).The sample consists of 100 healthy Bosnian war veterans divided in two equal groups-one, a highly religious group inside which were individuals who perform five obligatory prayers every day, and another group of individuals who do not practice any daily prayer. We used Minnesota Multiphase personal inventory (MMPI), Profile Index of Emotion (PIE) and Life Style Questionnaire (LSQ).War veterans who prayed had significantly higher levels for incorporation, self-protection, and for reactive formation ;but significantly lower level of regression, compensation, transfer, no-controlling, oppositional and aggressiveness than their peers who did not pray. Practicing religion (regular performing daily prayers) is associated with reduction of tendencies towards the tendency for risk, impulsiveness, and aggression. it is also associated with successful overcoming of emotional conflicts in war veterans  who practiced religion than their peers who did not practice religion.

This help to alleviate stress and anxiety, as the individuals is reminded that Allah is in control of their life and that everything happens according to his will.

performing salah provides an individuals with a sense of purpose, as they are engaging in a form of worship that is central to their faith. This sense of purpose can provide meaning and direction in life, reducing feeling of aimlessness or hopelessness.

Salah requires an individual to be fully present in the moment and focus on their worship, which help to increase mindfulness. This mindfulness can be carried over into other aspects of life, improving concentration and reducing distractions.
