what is salah(Namaz)?
The salah is an obligatory, Farz (require by a law ,rule or custom; compulsory) form of worship for every Muslim. The salah is the second most important pillar of islam.it is a mental, physical as well as Spiritual worship. the salah involves a number of physical movement like standing, bowing, prostrating and sitting.it also involves the verses from the holy Quran in Arabic along with a number of dua. that was revealed in the holy Quran and taught to us by prophet (saw) there are many ayah (verses) in the Quran which Allah tell us about the importance of salah (Namaz). salah is a barrier between a person and sins. Allah (SWT) says :"verily, As-salat(The prayer) prevents from Al-Fahsha (great sins of every kind, unlawful sexual intercourse) and Al-Munkar (disbelief, polytheism and every kind of evil wicked deed)."[surat Al-Ankabut:45]
why do Muslim perform salah?
The first reason why Muslim praying salah because performing salah is commandment from Allah (SWT) for every Muslim. shortly after Muhammad(saw) became a Prophet, the performance of salah(namaz) was on of the first commandments given to him by Allah (SWT).Allah Almighty tells us in the holy Quran that mankind was only created for one reason : to worship him. Allah (SWT) says:
"And I(Allah) created not the jinn and humans except they should worship me Alone". (Quran ch-51 verse-56)
That's why Muslims pray at all relates to what Islam considers to be purpose of life -to worship Allah alone. salah is the first matter a person is asked about on the day of recompense. prophet (saw) said "The first action a person is held accountable for on The day of recompense is salah. if it is complete, his entire actions shall be complete, however it is incomplete his entire action shall be incomplete". salah is the biggest difference between a Muslim and non-Muslim. prophet Muhammad(SAW) said "Between a man and polytheism and disbelief there stands his neglect of the salah."
Allah (SWT) say: "But if they repent, perform prayer and give zakat then they are your brothers in faith. this is how we make the revelations clear for people of knowledge."(surat At-Tawbah:11)
The last recommendation of the prophet (saw) at the agonies of his death was: "salah! salah! and fear Allah in regard of the slaves you own." conclusion
salah is the second pillar of Islam and performing the salah is compulsory for every Muslim. is it mental, physical as well as spiritual worship. salah is the first act of communication between mankind and his lord Allah the Almighty. prophet Muhammad (saw) informed us that salah would be the first thing Allah would preserve us to account for the day of judgement. in surat At-Tawbah Allah tied brotherhood in faith with salah, so we must pray Salah cause praying salah is Allah commandment for us.
